Phyllis Spector was born in Brooklyn and has been a member of CTI since 1976 when she moved to Glen Cove.
A graduate of Brooklyn and Queens Colleges, she received her Hebrew education at Young Israel of Vanderveer Park and at Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Institute in Manhattan.
In her professional life, Phyllis was a Spanish teacher in the public schools and was also a Hebrew School teacher here in Glen Cove for ten years.
Phyllis assumed various volunteer roles at CTI including Sisterhood President and Ritual Vice President. She was President of CTI from 2013- 2019. She currently has the position of Director of Administration.
Phyllis’ partner is Carl Kornfeld. Their family includes 4 adult children, and their spouses and 4 grandchildren. Phyllis enjoys Israeli dancing, cooking, entertaining and being with her family in New York, Connecticut and Seattle.
